The CMS means that changes are made only once and then published to all the sites. These services are delivered by a series of Agencies and Partners across the Borough.

Solution: The 'Way to Work' website has been developed to help people find the appropriate services for them and is, essentially, a large directory fronted by a very user friendly 'Way to Work pathway' which guides users through a simple series of questions to lead them to the relevant information.

The site has been developed around a comprehensive content management system which allows the Council to add and edit all content which is constantly expanding. The site is fully DDA compliant.

The site uses latest technologies to provide a sophisticated admin area with slicker grids and image handling which allows full editing of all content. Custom "pretty" URLs - using cutting edge features from ASP.NET 4.0 - provide SEO friendly URLs. Embedded Shockwave Flash animation to create a strong branded feel and a stylish user experience.

Strategy Office

Client: Management Consultants Strategy Office work with a wide variety of organisations, including a Police force, chemicals manufacturers and housing associations to help them deliver their objectives using the 'Balanced Scorecard' principle as devised by Dr. Robert Kaplan of Harvard Business School in the early 1990s.

The solution: Strategy Office commissioned bd2 to develop an online 'dashboard' to provide an instant visual of how an organisation is performing against its strategy by gathering performance data. Information is presented within a top-level, single view which shows how an organisation is progressing by displaying traffic lights against each objective. Each area can then be clicked-through to drill down into all levels of information such as specific action plans, targets and actual performance data. Key to the success of the dashboard is the administration system which uses automated emails to report performance against their target. The information is then automatically displayed in the site. Users also have the ability to add comment, update action plans or attach documents.

The site is hosted and supported by bd2 with continuous development work and technical support.
